Joe's Basket Days
It all started in 2012 by Joe Nathe, one of the founding brothers of Riverside Farms. Joe loved planting and he wanted to share it with others. Sadly Joe passed away, from a rare blood disease, after the first year. It has continued on due to the hard work and support of his family and staff at Riverside Farms and 101 Market. Riverside Farms wasn't equipped to host the planting until the year of 2024. We are so proud to carry on this beautiful event here at the location where it all began.
Plant arrangements
Our basket day events are normally held the second and third weekends in March. First you will browse the variety of designs and pick your favorite or you can create your own.
Plant plugs
Then you find your "plant plug" that matches the design you chose.
Newly planted basket/pot
Next you plant your miniature plants according to your choosen diagram or your creative imagination.
Plant-sit
You leave your creations with us and we water and care for it in our warm greenhouse.
May pick-up
You will pick up your precious baskets/pots, in early May, to find your baby plants have grown into a lovely maturing basket.
Enjoy all summer
You will bring your beautiful basket home where you will water and care for it while you watch and enjoy it's beauty and scent all summer long.
